Colne Valley Polymers
We specialise in high quality white and coloured compounding in most
polymers and subsequent uncured processing in the form of calendered
sheet or extruded profile.
Small batches of rubber can be processed in more exotic polymers such
as silicone, fluoroelastomer, and hydrogenated and carboxylated nitriles
etc. The open mill method of mixing is employed with its inherent advantages
of optimum dispersion, better physicals, better heat memory and greater
versatility. This method is particularly suited to shorter runs. Why
pay for 250kgs when you only need 50kg or 20kg? |

Calendered Sheet (Silicone Speciality)
The calendering of silicone and fluoroelastomers is a speciality
and our staff are highly trained in the skills required for handling
these materials. We also have the expertise to handle translucent
silicone and other silicones destined for food and health care applications.
A large stock of roller covering formulations (suitable for printing,
packaging, textile and the woodworking trade) is kept on file. All
compounds destined for sensitive end uses are strained on a fine
mesh.
Durometers ranging from 25° shore A to 99° shore A in high visibility pastel colours or standard black are available, and we can reprocess your trimmings to help reduce waste. We also specialise in small runs and our 40" three bowl calender with variable speed is ideal for calendering small runs from 25kg. |

Custom Mixing and Development Facility
If customers require something new, Colne Valley Polymers have two
laboratory mills for development work (or small orders of fluoroelastomer
if required). Formulations can be tuned for safe transport to warmer
climatic zones . |

Plying up and Spooling
Composites of textile substrates and rubber can be laminated on our three bowl calender. Spooling of calendered sheet can also be undertaken for special hand forming applications. |

Sectioning on the Calender
Calendering can be performed to give two sections on the batched up roll ie 2x14" wide sections with a 2" gap in between. This is especially useful for building short fabrications. |

Branded Speciality Roller Compounds
Our COLNFLEX range of special nitriles provides all the dynamic properties of natural rubber with sufficient oil resistance for printing applications and heat resistance up to 130°C.This range of compounds (in durometers from 45° shore A to 80° shore A) exhibit excellent rubber to metal bond properties, as well as good flow and knit performance.
Colne Valley Polymers' COLNITE range of special nitrile compounds represent
state-of-the-art nitrile compounding producing elastomers with heat
resistance up to 170°C, and outstanding tensile strength for special
feed wheels and hot solvent applications in roller covering. |

Conductive Nitriles
We have recently added to our product range nitrile mixes that are truly conductive (below 10 OHM / centimetre resistivity) and which can still be ground in roller form. These mixes are available in durometers from 60° shore A to 80° shore A. |

Mouldings
The company has recently installed a clean-room compression-moulding department, specializing in pharmaceutical mouldings and chemical resistant seals. In addition, a variety of specialised rubber to metal bonded fabrications are undertaken in various hi-tech polymers including silicone rubber. Working both with our customers and suppliers, we can offer a wide range of durometers and physical properties.
